Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me (Alma 7:13).
Have you ever thought about the Son of God? The Son of the Almighty, all powerful, ALL KNOWING God? He had the ability, if he so chose, to know by revelation exactly how we would ever feel. He could just know because “the Spirit knoweth all things,” but he CHOSE to suffer for us. How many of us would choose to do that? How many of us would choose to feel someone else’s pain, not in place of them feeling it, but alongside them, so that we could better comfort them?
We should not let this choice go unnoticed. I invite each of you to say a prayer of gratitude. He was always there, even if you chose not to see him. He felt it, even if you didn’t want him to. He knows you, even if you refuse to know him.
I leave that with you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
